I have got myself an eight month old little girl now! Wow, does time fly by. Lillian is a very active, busy baby! Since I now have an eight month old that makes me a pro, right? I’m just teasing, but I do have some items that I love that others may want to add to their new baby list! The items I have listed are ones that I never thought I would need with Lillian, but they are what I use the most.
1. Swaddle Sack-Halo
We have tried swaddle blankets, regular blankets, and this one other brand of swaddle sacks but Halo Swaddle sacks are our personal favorite! I feel comfortable knowing that no blanket will go over her face. The best part about the functionality is that it has velcro straps that can keep your baby’s arms securely swaddled. They are also great for transitioning them to having their arms outside of the swaddle! So, if you’re not a pro swaddler, don’t you worry because swaddle sacks are there to help you!
2. Diaper Genie
I have no complaints about the Diaper Genie because if it keeps the smell of those diapers inside of it I am a happy mama! It is worth the investment to me because it does the job that it claims to do.
3. Ruggish Co. Play Mat
We have hardwood floors at our apartment and Lillian’s small play mat wasn’t going to cut it when she got bigger and more mobile. I looked into Ruggish Co. and got the perfect play mat for her! It is the size of a normal rug, looks like a normal rug, but feels like a play mat! It also has memory foam in it so there is a soft layer between the floor and baby. It is the perfect space for Lillian to have to roam around while
she’s learning to crawl! It is also great for when I want to do some at home work outs! I honestly don’t think I could recommend this enough; it has been one of the best purchases we made for Lillian. It is on the more expensive side, but it is a great investment to have for your child!
4. Woven for Ella
My friend makes the cutest hand-crocheted items. She has made Lillian multiple hats, toys, and clothes. I honestly love everything she makes! Lillian loves her little octopus, and it helps her get through church on Sunday’s as well as long car drives. My favorite toy that she has made Lillian is a mermaid doll! If you know our family you know we love mermaids! She also makes some cute toys for boys too! Check her shop out!
Again, these are my favorite items that I, or Lillian, use daily! There are obviously a lot of items that we have that we use that are viewed more as essentials for most people. These are some “new” ideas of what are essential for our family!
